AUSTIN ELITE RUGBY

Brand design for the historical Austin Elite Rugby team – active in Austin (TX) between 2017–2019. The team was later renamed AUSTIN ELITE HEARD and dropped off the orange color but kept the same longhorn-shield symbol (2019-2020). According to the manual of visual identity:

The Longhorn embodies the characteristics that the players pride themselves on having. The Longhorn is main Texas’ symbol. Longhorns are also displaying a strong sense of community, strength, respect, and confidence.

Recently the team change brand again, this time was rebranded under the new leadership of Austin Gilgronis (2020–2022). Change can be regarded as a fascinating journey, and I wonder how it would be if the initial ELITE logo passed the test of time.
